Email for n8n
An email address for your n8n workflow
Mail that arrives starts the workflow, and the workflow replies in the thread, saves drafts for a person and waits for verification codes. Nobody’s own inbox is connected to n8n.
On n8n Cloud, search for Pidgeon in the canvas. On a self-hosted n8n, install it as a community node, then add your API key as a Pidgeon API credential.

- TriggerMail starts the workflowA message arriving, or a thread handed to a person, starts it. Every delivery’s signature is checked.
- ReplyAnswer in the threadReply, send, or save a draft for a person to send.
- CodesWait for a verification codeOne step waits for the next email and returns its code or link already pulled out.
- Hand-offHand a thread to a personAnd take it back when they are done.
- TestBuild on a test keyNothing a test key sends leaves Pidgeon, so a workflow can be built without writing to anyone.
- KeysOne key per workflowWhatever the key reaches, the workflow can reach. Give it the least access it needs.
Asked often
Is there an n8n email node for AI agents?
Yes: @pidgeon-ai/n8n-nodes-pidgeon, a verified community node with a trigger and an action node. It installs from the canvas on n8n Cloud and as a community node on a self-hosted n8n.
Does the trigger need a public URL?
Yes. Pidgeon delivers webhooks only to HTTPS, so n8n needs a public HTTPS address. On a laptop, a tunnel gives you one.
Why not the Gmail node?
The Gmail node connects someone’s own inbox to the workflow, all of it. A Pidgeon address belongs to the workflow, and a model in it only reads the message in front of it.
